Like the New York Yankees, PK.com is blessed to have the top talent scouts in the biz (whatever biz this is, exactly). A few weeks ago, my ace lookout in St. Petersburg, Fla., sent word that a model he's friendly with would be interested in doing an interview. I needed maybe four seconds to mull it over after seeing Lisa Menuto's site. Here's how it went...
THE INTERVIEW
1. Give us a little history of LisaMenuto.com. Why you started it, how it's been going, etc.
I started my own website to eliminate ever-changing comp cards.
2. I found out about you through my friend Keith. Did you know that boy hit on every woman in the office when we worked together?
I believe it. (Just kidding.) He's a real nice guy
3. Do you get a lot of bogus requests on your booking page? And when I send mine, will you actually read it?
Yes, I get a lot of weird requests for clothes I 've worn, but not washed and things like that.
4. Your online store currently is under construction. What kinds of things do you plan to sell, and what kinds of discounts apply to webmasters?
Mostly autographed paraphernalia, which is requested a lot at this point. Of course there's a discount for webmasters. :)
5. What are some of the more creative and successful ways you've promoted LisaMenuto.com?
I have friends in radio who promoted me as well as my clothing designer friend (who'd be interested in an interview as well). Her name is Jessica Munn and her site/line is located at: http://www.jesskclothing.com
6. How sick are you of Menudo jokes? (I still get the Katcher in the Rye stuff. Like I haven't heard that every day for 29 years.)
I don't know why, but most of those innuendos stem from people thinking I'm related to Ricky Martin even thought I have a last name of Menuto, not even Menudo!
7. There's not much personal info about you on your site. Is that by design, to keep things private, or will you add a more personal touch in the future? Perhaps a journal, modeling tips, stories from the road, pics of you naked, etc.
I don't shoot topless/naked, and I wanted to keep my site very professional and business-orientated.
8. What has been your most fun modeling experience?
I love live promotions and beach shoots. I love to be moving and doing things, which is why I make a pretty crappy secretary. :)
9. Whose talk show do you think was worse: Chevy Chase's or Magic Johnson's?
Magic Johnson didn't have a strong "host-crowd" relationship.
10. Are you one of those gals who has a hard time getting a date because men are intimidated by your good looks? If so, I'm asking you out right now.
Sometimes, to be honest I'm kind of married to USF right now. (That's University of South Florida.) I'm pre-med.
11. Ever caught someone using your pictures online without permission and pretending to be this hot babe from Florida?
No, but I find other sites using them and my name w/o my permission!
12. How important a role do you think LisaMenuto.com will play in helping to shape your career's future?
I hope a big one! I've gotten a lot of work from my site. I also hope to add Flash and start getting creative with the site soon.
