Tell Me More About This PK.com Trojan Virus
In the past week, a lot of people have e-mailed me saying that a visit to my site is generating a Trojan-virus warning.

This is news to me. Having half of a brain, I use Firefox as my browser and see nary a pop-up window or any windows that aren't user-initiated. However, I'm not the smartest techie in the world, and I didn't know you could get infected simply by browsing a website. Visiting a hooker in Tijuana is a different story, of course.

I've upgraded my forum software, which my hosting service urged to "address several bugs and a number of exploits." I don't know if that will clear this up.

If these problems continue, could you please post a comment or send me an e-mail with specific details about your platform (Windows/Mac, etc.), browser (shitty IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.) and virus-detection message or weird responses you receive/experience? Please include the specific page you're trying to access. Thanks.

I got the virus warning when I loaded your web page. I have to use IE at work (ugh) so I don't have much choice. We are on Windows NT here. It said it was some kind of Trojan Horse virus. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I've been getting a lot of e-mails, so I'll work on this today. I deleted the forum, which got bashed this weekend by spammers. Maybe that'll help a bit. Gonna upgrade to the latest Movable Type, too, and see if I can pull that off without deleting years of work.

Still waiting for a reponse from my host. I just viewed my site using IE with Windows XP and saw nothing fishy. Developing...

Running XP SP2 with IE6 - no issues.

Speaking of viruses, went to Saturday's game and saw a guy wearing a Schilling jersey over a red turtleneck. I wanted to put a Kick Me sign on his back.

Latest update: my host says I'm not the only site having these problems and that they're working on all possible solutions.

Which is just the answer I was looking for. It wasn't me, I swear!
