Jim Morrison Is My Hero (No, Not That Jim Morrison)

I was going to blog about the ruling in Texas that reversed a ban on sodomy. Now gays and lesbians can penetrate each other's bodies — just like us straight folk — without (get this) going to jail!

I was going to celebrate the strength of homosexuals, how I admire their courage to withstand the hatred of those who wave the flag at foreign nations in the name of freedom, then throw some fucking Bible in the faces of people who should not have to explain why their dicks get hard any more than straight people do.

Then I came across the story of New Jersey Senate candidate Jim Morrison, who county Democratic officials want tossed out of the race because he posed nude. Posed nude! Nude as the way we get out of the shower every fucking day! To his credit, Morrison is standing um, firm, and said, "If people want to know about it, they should know I won the contest." Right on, brother.

When I read in another article that Morrison is gay — a "punk-rock faggot" who finished second on The Mole — the backlash against him started to make more sense.

Land of the free (sometimes) and the home of the brave. I support gay rights. I want that on my record.

The dissenting Supreme Court Justices in the Texas case, who voted to criminalize private consensual sex between adults of the same sex, were Antonin Scalia, William Rehnquist and Clarence Thomas. May they all go fuck themselves. (How's that for irony?)

If I could fuck myself, I would probably never leave the house. Wish I could say the same of Scalia, Rehnquist and Thomas. Ugh.

I'm glad the laws were stricken. Nobody should go to jail because they enjoy the company of the same sex. I'm just sick and damned tired of hearing about it.
But where will we as country draw the line? Gays are protected by freedom of choice.Fine. How about necrophelia? Wait, the dead can't say yes any more than they can say no, so no consent means it's bad (read that illegal). Beastiality? If I fuck a dog and it doesn't yelp or bleed, and it comes in the house the next day for food and another fucking, have I broken the law? Should I be protected under the same rights? How about NAMBLA? They say the boys they like are all consenting. Age is the issue here. Should they be protected? Who says they shouldn't? Who decides what is right or wrong anymore? I don't want the "right " making those decisions for me any more than the "left". I know what I like, what I teach my kids, and laws don't always play into it.

Did I just read a comparison of homosexual sex vs. necrophilia?
You gotta be kidding!

Posted by PeeWee at June 26, 2003 11:52 PM

I think Neal brings up good points. He's not advocating any of the other sexual practices, I don't think. But the line between legal and illegal sex has to be drawn somewhere. I guess we start with heterosexual sex, because tht's what most people prefer. Then we move to homosexual sex, which a significant enough portion of society also prefers, or at least partakes in.

For me, that line does not cross into sex with children, dead people or animals, though there are some who would argue their legality.
Take, for example, the North American Man/Boy Love Association. It creeps me out, but it's real.

Preach it, brutha.

Posted by Her Highness at June 27, 2003 7:19 AM

OH MY GOD!! Do you people see the ripple effects of this?

1. Cats and dogs living together....IN SIN

2. The beautification of the backwoods country where the gays will now wear and paint pastels freely and walk hand and hand down country lanes. (Even so, them sissy boys better keep thare heds low, lessen some bowed up country boys try to pick'em off the fence post like so many colorful birds before them).

3. Effecting a pardon against fugitive Ned Beaty from his role in Deliverance. and

4. The playing of "It's Raining Men" all over country radio stations.

And now that Strom Thurmund is dead, let the invasion begin.

Posted by JC at June 27, 2003 9:02 AM

Clarence Thomas thinks sodomy is wrong. Pubes on a soda can, now that's just prank-tastic!

Posted by Netti at June 27, 2003 9:55 AM

I think Neal needs to get out of whatever woods he's living in and realize gay sex can't be compared to fucking a dog ... am I the only one that sees something wrong with this picture? I see where Paul is coming from when there has to be some line drawn, but if its 2 contenting ADULTS, why is it the governments job to say what you can and cant do??

Posted by Livia at June 27, 2003 9:55 AM

Clarence Thomas, etc. didn't vote to "criminalize" gay sex. They just said it wasn't un-constitutional. Are you un-aware of the difference?

Did you read the decision? Thomas explicitly stated that the law was stupid and if he was a legistlator he would have voted to get rid of it. However, he saw nothing specific in the constitution that prevents such stupid laws.

"Stupid" and "wrong" are not the same thing as "Un-Constitutional".

Posted by Jim at June 27, 2003 10:08 AM

I disagree with the ruling.

Scalia in my favorite SC Justice.

And NAMBLA used to march in the Gay Pride Parade.

Posted by Pat at June 27, 2003 10:14 AM

Damn, you people are so serious. Except for the people that were actually caught in Texas, do you actually think the bedroom police have been roaming the streets and bedrooms looking for violators of the so-called "sodomy" laws, notwithstanding it might have been objectional to some to have the laws on the books to begin with? Now I would vehemently disagree with any repeal of a law which would endanger children. But all of the other crazy, weird, wacko shit that other consenting adults want to do with barnyard animals, corpses, walls, each other, that is their fucking business. Mind you animals and vegetables have no rights because man has dominion over them. Do you hear me, DOMINION which means we can kill and eat them. So why not fuck them if we want to? Women do this shit all the time in Mexico and Thailand.

Me, I'm going to start a tax-deductible church that worhips the drinking of beer. I could go to a beer church.

Now then, have a little fun and relish the fact that our demoractically elected republic, tri-partite form of government actually gets it right sometimes.

In closing, watch out for those raccoons, they have razor sharp teeth and don't give it up easily. You have to buy them a drink sometimes and get them in the mood.

Posted by JC at June 27, 2003 11:58 AM

Let me straighten it out for those of you that didn't get it.
It doesn't matter to me, or most people, who or what you decide to have sex with. For the most part, it should be live and let live.
But, homosexual behavior is considered a deviant behavior, like it or not. The other things I likened it to are considered deviant behavior as well.
Thanks Paul for gettin it.
Dog fuckers unite!

Posted by Neal at June 27, 2003 10:25 PM

Although I take no opinion in this specific decision, I find it absurd to generalize by saying that Scalia should go fuck himself. He is an incredible legal mind, which you would discover after reading many of his opinions. Maybe you do not agree with everything that he believes in, but discounting him just because of this does not show a whole lot of intelligence. If I were to say the same kind of thing about Justice Stevens (who I cannot stand), or Justice Souter (who is the hypocrite of hypocrites), I would find myself getting a severe lashing by liberals. Sorry, I guess this is what law school does to someone.

I'm tired of all this pandering to the homos. "We need special rights and recognition because people don't like us...sniff.." Aww, makes me sad.

Here's a crazy idea.. how about you don't tell everyone you're gay?

Let's look at 2 scenarios: Black guy-- everyone knows it, can't hide it; has a legitimate gripe. Gay dude-- noone knows until you tell them, no problem keeping it to yourself; causes their own problems.

People are acting like this is such a huge thing; Yay! Now we'll stop getting arrested for ButtSex! How often do you think that shit happens? Happened what; once; 6 years ago or something? Why don't we take a look at repealing some of the laws that actally fucking matter--like the current Draconian set of laws we like to call a "War on Drugs"? How about we focus on shit that will save us money by emptying our jails of about 60% of their population? How about our government does what it does best and find a way to tax us and make money off the shit?

How about we just stop worrying about shit that doesn't matter; like a sodomy law; and find a way to provide universal healthcare? Wow! Crazy idea.

Oh... and a sidenote; anybody can feel free to answer this if they know--- Why is it that as soon as a man "comes out"; he all the sudden develops a lisp and/or talks like a girl? If I'm not mistaken; he is still a man. Regardless of who you get in bed with, if you're a man, act like one.

That last comment is about the dumbest I have ever read. I have left it up because Canesfan16 did not leave an e-mail address and there was no way I could tell him to please never come back to my site.

I don't want Canesfan16 here. He is the reason why stigmas against gays exist. He is the reason so many gays have been beaten and killed for just walking down the street. Canesfan16, please never, ever come back to this site. I do not want your readership.

Posted by Paul Katcher at June 30, 2003 10:22 AM

I agree with Paul. That douchebag ought to follow his own advise and keep his own opinions to himself.

As far as my own political and religious predilictions go, it shouldn't be illegal and my personal opinion regarding the matter is between me and my God.

Although these protesters have every right to assemble and speak their minds, I have always been of the ilk that freedom of speach is an legal absolute in the U.S.A. (excpet for yelling movie in a crowded fire house). The class to use that right, however, is a matter of societal norms.

I just wish all these protesters and political rally people would turn all that energy into something more positive like teaching a kid to read or visiting kids in the burn units of hospitals or other acts of kindness our society needs.

Sniff, Sniff, I need a hug.

Posted by JC at June 30, 2003 11:34 AM

I guess you figured out my email address; but there was no address to reply to, so I'll just bid a final farewell to PK.com here... good luck with your site.

I guess there isn't too much room for dissenting opinion, unless of course you're a "minority", in which case your opinions are automatically validated.

I knew what I wrote would cause a stir, but to be barred from the site! The power of free speech is amazing.

Posted by Canesfan16 at June 30, 2003 1:24 PM

Canesfan16 , your legal right to free speech does not require me to respect your ridiculous assertions that closeted gays cause their own problems and that, once outed, they develop lisps and talk like girls.

Want a free-speech forum to spread your hate? Create your own site. Good riddance.

Posted by Paul Katcher at June 30, 2003 1:33 PM

What goes on behind closed doors between two consenting adults should never have been the government's business.

It certainly is none of mine. Nor can I understand anyone who might judge someone else on what their sexual practices are (as long as it fits the consenting adults standard)- flip the coin, and someone might be judging you...

Posted by lucy at July 1, 2003 4:00 AM

Wow, I cant believe how dense most of the people on this thread are. Im not talking about PC bullshit, just simple logic:

The reason why homosexuality is not in the same category as necrophilia, bestiality, or pedophilia, is CONSENT. Dead people, animals and children under 18 cannot legally give consent to anything. Two adults of sound mind and body (be they two men, two women or a man and a woman) can. BTW, many people in our society consider felatio, three-ways and pre-marital sex to be "deviant" behavior. Hate to see any of you locked up for that.

Some of you act like its such a pain to have to listen to the whiny faggots complain abt their rights. Gee, what a tough life. I'm sure that gay people--who can get fired, kicked out of their apartments or denied basic rights simply for being gay--feel terrible for inconveniecing you.

Obviously not many people actually go to jail for sodomy, but the fact that it was illegal was used to deny gay people housing, jobs, health care, etc. Now, Im not saying you have to like gay people or approve of what they do, but morality and legality are two very different things.
