Is Max Kellerman More Annoying Than al-Qaeda?
I know ESPN's Around the Horn sucks harder than a runaway in L.A., but are you annoyed by its host, Max Kellerman, any more than the world's most dangerous Islamic terrorist group? As of PK.com press time, the AmIAnnoying.com's list of most and least annoying people had No. 2 Kellerman pulling a 76.93% annoying rating, slightly less than front-runner Carson Daly but ahead of third-place al-Qaeda.

AmIAnnoying.com is a fun site, with such annoying collections as advertisements, music and sports, where public opinion is sorted in thumbnail view.

Each voting page (see Jonathan Taylor Thomas example) helps you decide yea or nea with bullet points on why one might be annoying (he is a vegan) or why he might not be (he attends Harvard).

Here's a sampling of results I found on the site:

• Axl Rose is slightly more annoying than Pete Rose
• Gentlemanly Harmon Killebrew is more annoying than documented asshole Reggie Jackson
• Eva Braun is more annoying than the man whose penis she took openly, Adolf Hitler
• Stacey Keibler, my favorite wrestling chick ever, is the No. 2 least annoying person on the site
• A.J. Benza is the most annoying of Howard Stern radio show personalities
• Mississippi is the most annoying Confederate state

Right now, nothing annoys me more than the excruciating three-day stomach ache I brought back from Mexico.

Other Web Finds:

Star Wars Kid Video — A fat, virginal fan practices his Jedi fighting skills. Fully endorsed by me as being worth your time to see. (Thanks, Tracy)

Panoramic View Atop Mount Everest — Not for those with slow bandwith or with a fear of heights. Hold mouse down to spin around the image. Keep tissues handy if your greatest expedition has been to Virginia Beach.

1-2-3 Be a Porn Star! A Step-By-Step Guide to the Adult Sex Industry — Another product sold on Amazon.com, the site founded by 1999 TIME Person of the Year Jeff Bezos. Show me a rich guy who doesn't make money off sex and I'll show a black-tie event filled with those who do. But who's willing to admit it?

Britney Without Liposuction — Pictures of what Ms. Spears would look like with an extra pound or two hundred tacked on her frame.

The Poultry Times — A news site dedicated to all things related to poultry and eggs. A little hard to read, though. It's all chicken scratch. Man, I crack myself up!

I think Max Kellerman is adorable. What a cutie. I'd like to see him strip down to his briefs. I'd love to hug him and kiss him and see him put on some shiny satin boxer shorts and shiny read boxing mitts and then go to bed with him. What a knockout, no pun intended.

After tonight's decision for Mosley vs De La Hoya, I'm done with boxing. That match was so obviously, hands down, De La Hoya's win. I'm sick and tired of the bullshit in the boxing world including these stupid erroneous decisions. No more for me. That's it. I will never watch another match.

I THINK MAX IS A GREAT BOXING HISTORIAN
GET OFF HIS BACK ! ANYONE FROM THE YUPPER
WEST SIDE IS MUCH MORE ANNOYING THEN ANY ARAB TERRORIST !!!!!!!!!!!
THE WORST PART OF LIVING IN NYC IS HAVING TO SOMEDAY GO TO THE UPPER WEST SIDE GOD THAT SUCKS!
THAT'S NOT EVEN NEW YORK .

Posted by JOHN at November 17, 2003 1:13 PM

You New Yorkers are so isolated! Max Kellerman is a sincere, enthusiastic host. he also knows a helluva lot about boxing.

Max is very enjoyable . Great entertainer.
Watch Around the Horn- its great comedy.

Where do you get your info? And what's annoying about Max Kellerman. I love Around The Horn... great comedy.

Posted by brad at December 16, 2003 5:16 AM

Max Kellerman: " I believe the luxury tax is nonsense, I think that since people in New York pay the most to live that they should get the best of things. People in smaller markets shouldnt have winning teams because they arent used to having the best of things anyway. People in New York deserve to win, and so do all the other large market teams "

MY TAKE ON THAT IS:

New York is a direct product of tourism. 80 percent of all money spent there is by tourists. All the businesses make more money and all people there make more money to account for the increased cost of living. Get this, Ryan, to give you an idea of how pompous New Yorkers are. I went the Ground Zero a week or so ago, and they had a list of all people who died in the Towers in 9-11. " The Heroes of New York " was on the plaque. The other plaques for the Pennsyvania and the Pentagon said " Those lost in Pennsylvania... .. Those lost in the Pentagon "

I never even heard of Max Kellerman until he filled in for Dan Patrick (or was it Tony Kornheiser?) on Espn Radio around Xmastime. What a jackass...when he wasn't trashing small market teams and their cities he insisted on telling us every 5 minutes he's Jewish. So what? Who cares? Dickhead...

Around the Horn- great show. Max Kellerman- best part about the show. He is great to watch. I watch boxing just because the guy is so cool. The only bad thing about him is that he is a Yankees fan. This is the stupidest thing I have ever read, and that tops Dean's explanation for going insane. (North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Wyoming....etc)

im watchin ATH right now and max can be annoying at times but ya gotta respect the man and his ability to give his opinion, not be politicallly correct to insanity and not apologize for that nor for giving his opinion. he is extremely smart (graduated columbia univ), and he knows boxing as well as if not better than anyone alive. he nows enough, has enough charm and charisma to keep a successful show on the largest non-news network in the world....hmmm i guess im a fan and ATH is the shit people.

I'm a huge Max fan (and I hate the Yankees, and love the Red Sox, so that says something for his skills as a host and commentator). For those who hate him though, be proud, because he's left ESPN (both Friday Night Fights and Around The Horn) for an as-yet-unknown new network. Scoop from WoodyPaige.com.

Posted by Aredubya at February 11, 2004 5:25 PM

Too bad ESPN and Max couldn't reach a contract agreement. Friday Night Fight's won't be the same with out Max.

Posted by Tony at February 12, 2004 10:12 PM

ESPN Friday Night Fights was once a place to relax, while sippin' a brew, viewing thugs pound each other. I loved it, until Kellerman came around yelling his junk. Seriously, west-coasters never understood the New York hyperactivity thing, but Kellerman was enough for me to almost wear-out my MUTE button on the TiVo remote. I swear to God. He's a swell-headed spaz, and I'm DELIGHTED to see him GONE! His act doesn't "work" except for the NY crowd. (He'd get his arse handed to him if opened his mouth in a California western bar. I'd love to see it.) Freddy Blassie would have called him a sissy, and a pencil-neck'd geek. The corn in Freddy's poop was more qualified to talk boxing. Bye bye, lice. And who cares if your Jewish? Whadevva.

Posted by Phat Dunsmore at February 17, 2004 1:01 AM

Great, see what yall did. Now we have STAT BOY on around the horn instead of my man max.

Posted by Mikhal at February 19, 2004 2:08 AM

It is a tragedy that Max is gone from ATH. It's most entertaining shows were when Max, Woody, and Jay would rant and rave with eachother.
Max and ATH go hand in hand and the show is different because of it. Well, whatever, like anyone cares about my opinion anyway, just had to get my two cents in.

Posted by Nick at February 19, 2004 11:14 AM

Friday Night Fights is the best continuing boxing show ever. There's still plenty of commentating talent even after Max' departure, and I learn more about the game each time I watch it. Max added charm and a perspective, and I think it's a lesser show now. But Max is entitled to make career moves that he thinks will enhance his career. Good luck to him.

Posted by Stu Olster at March 7, 2004 11:41 PM

Come you must be a clown for hating on Max Kellerman what's to hate about the guy. He knows his shit and can appeal to any race and that's why he was the best for ATH. I'm mad as fuck because stat boy is the man running the engine but I guess I will get use to it. So Paul acknowlede greatness at it's best and stop wishing you had his job.

Posted by at March 25, 2004 2:35 AM

Don't bash Max he is the shit. Around the horn sucks without him now. His show was better than PTI. Don't hate him because he can kick your @$$.

Posted by at March 25, 2004 11:49 PM

When I first saw Max, I thought WHO IS THIS SMART A--. But then I realized he really knew fis Boxing.
Except when it comes to "MY HERO" JOE LOUIS. None ever better. & I oughta know, I listened to BOTH
Louis/Schmelling? fights on the radio. even after ALL these years, I am still a Boxing Fan. I LOVE IT.
Thank You
Gene

Max was the Jerry Springer of sports shows on ATH. HE was great and Stat Boy just isn't the same. I thought ratings would drop so much after he left that I actually fell for their April Fools joke.

Posted by Mark Kecko at April 6, 2004 2:57 PM

Max was great on ATH! I really didn't realize how much the show needed him until he was gone. It has definitely lost something since Tony Reali took his place.

Posted by Bern Mesmer at April 20, 2004 7:12 PM

Max Kellerman what can I say about the man, besides the fact that he made me more interested in sport shows. I am just a girl who never watched a sport show before because I thought they were boring. But when I started watching Around The Horn I just loved it,Loved hearing Max just shut down those guys and say his thoughts however I was saddened to see him go but was happy for him none the less for the his new and better show I, Max I enjoy this show so much and I refuse to watch ATH with that new guy Tony. Everyone show watch I, Max and see him challenge Michael Holly and the world.......

Max Kellerman's exuberance over boxing is reminiscent of the way I used to feel when I was young and for that matter they way I feel now. I always looked forward to his comments on Friday Night Fights and missed him greatly when he moved on.

Posted by David Roche at July 10, 2004 11:24 AM

Actually, I like Max Kellerman's Show....He is WAY more entertaining than Jim Rome, who I'm convinced is the anti-Christ....

Anybody like Max who can read his hate mail at the end of the show has a real sense of humor & doesn't take himself so serious like Rome does.....

He's the only sports show I'll listen to or watch....

Posted by at September 1, 2004 10:36 PM

I really wasn't intrested into sports shows until I saw Max's show. It is entertaining and very informing. I especially like when he makes fun of Michaeal Holly and Bill Wolf.
