Ladies, What Cologne Do You Recommend?
I have a question for the women out there. (And don't worry, it's not related to anything taxing, like math or science.) What colognes should be next on my purchase list?

Yes, I can go to Sephora and see what I like, except that the purpose of cologne is to attract women, not myself. So I am going to do as usual and ask the sales staff which cologne women most often buy for their boyfriends — a year ago, three simultaneously replied "Issey Miyake" — and it would be nice to have some suggestions ahead of time, so I'm not sitting there waving and sniffing 100 pieces of paper like Boy George's long-lost college roommate.

(Please let this work out better than the time I asked six female coworkers to select their favorite among Tiffany bracelets I was considering buying for my then-girlfriend. I got six different answers.)

Comments: Ladies, What Cologne Do You Recommend?

I know it isn't the point of your post to hear from guys, but I was recently shopping for cologne with my girlfriend and she picked out two that she really liked. One was Armani Mania, and the other was Versace Dreamer. Hope this helps.

It's all about "bvlgari black"!

A coworker used to wear it and platonic female coworkers would nuzzle up to his neck just to get a waft of the warm, enticing aroma.

I also really like "Om" by Gap (discontinued, so if you can find it at a Gap outlet it's pretty cheap!) - too bad I had my ex wear it all the time so now don't really want to be smelling it :(

You must get the regular BVLGARI (not the black). You can only purchase it at the BVLGARI store or Neiman Marcus. It is one of those scents that makes me weak in the knees and horny as hell. I would rape you if I smelled it on you :)

Other than an ex of mine, I have only smelled it on one other man--Matt Geiger (former Sixer).

I'm not sure it really matters....just get something you like. No doubt it will remind that really hot girl you want to impress of her last boyfriend, and you'll be hosed... heh...

Seriously...I like the crisp, non-musky scents. Geoffrey Beene, Lagerfeld...I don't want to smell earthy, ty very much ;-)

My wife's eyes roll in the back of her head anytime I put anything on by Guerlain's men's line (www.guerlain.com). Specifically, Heritage and Vetiver.

"Nothing taxing like math or science" Insult me and then ask me for something....interesting approach. I hate cologne....very few men really pull it off and way too many think they are.

I don't have a recommendation, but try the one of the recommendation, then after a while and have another person smell it on you (preferably a woman). Different scents smell differently on different people because of their natural odar or "phermones" (i.e., sweat). So what smells good on one person, may not work the same for another . . .

Hands down (or should I say pants down because it makes me crazy) it has to be Marc Jacobs for Men. Oh God, it drives me nuts and just last week I was in a bar and walked past a ridiculous looking guy (ridiculous - west coast slang for HOT) and caught a whiff of it. I was toast.

i always associate specific scents with the man...so, i'm hard pressed to give you an answer on this one. the man makes the scent, in my opinion.

so, go to the nearest store - try a few on, and see which ones garner you the most weak in the knees looks as you walk by....

that's your best answer, i daresay.

;-)

indeed jen.
you will always remember the man who wore
the cologne...when you first experienced the particular scent.
10 others could wear it after, but you will still think of that first man.

For you Paul, either Armani Mania or Ralph Lauren's Romance.

I had a boyfriend in high school that wore Tommy and still to this day I about do a 180 when some guy walks by wearing it. Oh the memories. . .

seeing as i am allergic to cologne, i prefer the fresh scent of either ivory soap or irish spring... and colgate....

Lucy's my kind of gal. I like non-musky scents, too. Grey Flannel always makes me feel warm inside and out.

I have been trying many different Colognes on at department stores, I put one on one wrist and the other on the other wrist. Then I have been asking women for their opinions. Many are very generous and give me their opinion and some even recommend some of their favorites for me to try. Through my research (and I'm not done yet because my list keeps growing with all the recommendations I keep getting). Aqua Di Gio gets A+, Curve gets A+, Victoria Secrets very sexy for him A+, Blue by Polo A+, Higher energy A+, Romance A+(but Romance doesn't hold a scent long so 2 hours and It's gone). I'm still trying more colognes, oh and a side note most women are very generous and helpful in giving their opinion, others due to reading so many "women are from venus and men are from hell" books are "uncomfortable" when a man asks them to smell their wrist and offer an opinion. I currently am working on taking this issue to the top senior executives at Dilliards due to the fact some women in the fragrance counters in the Lewisville TX store were "nervous" when I went aroung asking. Hope my research helps, oh another thing some colognes smell one way on me and different on other men. I had many ladies say to me "that can't be Romance my husband wears romance", etc.
